Reuters Names World’s Top Traffic-Jammed Cities

Not surprisingly, five are in the US: Los Angeles: (1), New York City (3), San Francisco (4), Atlanta (9) and Miami (11) . Moscow (2) tops the foreign city list, followed by Bogata (5), Sao Paulo (6), London (7), Magnitogorsk (8), Paris (10) and Bangkok (12).

If your travels this year take you to any of those congested cities, reconsider doing it with your own or rented car. Weigh the costs, including finding expensive places to park. Check latest internet info on city bus routes, taxi, Uber, Lyft and other urban transportation facilities.

Las Vegas: How To Stage A Super Veterans' Reunion PDF Print E-mail

Q: We’ve been having annual local reunions of Navy mates who served on our aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. Coming up this September is our 50th anniversary since we were there, and I want to make it the best ever. What do you recommend? PBMcH, Master Chief Yeoman (Retired), San Diego CA

Beijing, China: Visit Huge Tiananmen Square PDF Print E-mail

One of the top choices these days for senior sojourners is to experience Tiananmen Square. The world-famous plaza, located in the nation's capital city, Beijing, is the largest public square in the world.

The Gate of Heavenly Peace stands at one end of the Square as guardian archway to the Forbidden City. Since the early 1400s it has served as palaces, religious sites, government quarters and residences of Chinese royal dynasties.

The Communist regime took over the city in 1949. Now, instead of traditional Chinese religious and emperor names, there are more earthy-named structures. There’s the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, and Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall.
