Today’s active senior travelers don’t do much standing around gaping. 3.Santa Monica CA: Ahnald did it. Today, that guy flexing his abs next to you on the sand may someday become the Governator of Caleefornia. Stroll along the shore, sink your toes in the warm sand, splash the surf and feed the sea gulls.

Senior Correspondent PJJ, San Francisco CA: We seniors often hear the stand-up comedy lines, “You know you’re getting old when ....” Well, here’s the latest. You know you’re getting old when you realize that one of your favorite movies of all time was made nearly 60 years ago.
“Some Like It Hot” had its premiere at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood in 1959. All the stars of the film are now gone, including Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, George Raft, Pat O’Brien and Joe E. Brown. It was directed by the late multi-Academy Award winner, Billy Wilder.
Although the setting of most of the movie was supposed to be in a 1920s Florida beachfront hotel, it was filmed at the famed Hotel Del Coronado, a beautiful resort on an island connected by bridge to the city of San Diego, California.

Self-Driving Pods May Replace Taxis, Buses And Limos |

The London Daily Mail reports the latest step in the process of automatic city transportation. Pod Zero of the RDM Group introduces driverless vehicles of various sizes that can haul from one to a dozen passengers.
In addition to safety features, they’ll also include accommodations for the elderly, wheelchair-bound and physically-challenged. The Pod interiors will offer video programs, as well as extended views of outside scenery.
The electric vehicles can go 60 miles before recharging, at speeds up to 15 miles an hour. In addition to service at airports, Pod Zero vehicles can also provide transport at multi-structure complexes, amusement parks, zoos and other large areas.
