Built in China, the electric EHang 184 is designed to pick up and deliver passengers on up to 30-minute rides in busy cities. According publicity, the one-rider vehicle, called a quadcopter, will contribute greatly to reducing busy city traffic and gasoline-produced air congestion.

After testing in Abu Dhabi for several months, further plans call for it to go into daily use later this year. The city is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, and welcomed nearly 15 million visitors last year.

According to a recent article in the Financial Times, it’s already happening in a café at a Japanese amusement park. Further, some scientists predict there will soon be hundreds of restaurants run totally by robotic staffs in the kitchen and waiting tables.

Can you imagine what that will mean to future generations of diners? If the robot chef has a cold, will he sneeze on your steak? Will the robot waiters serve your soup with a thumb or worse in it? If you fail to tip, will your angry robot waiter chase after you down the street?

Although some savvy senior wanderers may not agree nor ever heard of several of them, the list is an interesting compilation. They’re popular destinations suggested by Lonely Planet. They are, including two U.S. cities, in rank order:

Er .... is something missing from that list? Has any senior wanderer ever heard about such obscure destinations as New York NY, London UK, Paris, France and Venice, Italy?. And where is Tony Bennett’s favorite city with the little cable cars that go halfway to the stars?
