Hilton Hotels Ban Pay-For-Porn Room Videos

After pressure from social and religious groups, the famed hotel chain recently cleaned up its act. Hilton is removing all porn stations from its in-room TVs.

Of course, the company has no way of preventing the kind of graphic reality that actually happens, both by professionals and amateurs, on the beds of those rooms. And it can’t stop Conrad Hilton’s granddaughter, Paris, from performing in some of the more lurid of the banned movies.

Question From An Ambitious Senior Casino Ace PDF Print E-mail

Q: I’m a good slot machine player. Could I make a post-retirement living in Las Vegas? LRW, Chicago IL

A: Basically, there’s really no way for you to consistently win in Las Vegas, nor at any other casino. With electronically-set slot machines, odds for the gambler are slim. Casinos advertise that for every dollar put into slot machines, they return from 70 to 90 cents. Translation: If you keep playing, you lose.

You have a better chance at blackjack, poker and other table games. Odds are better than on the machines, but statistics prove that in all casino games you’ll lose. However, winning at blackjack did happen in at least one very publicized instance about ten years ago.

Washington DC: New Smithsonian Museum Adjunct Debuts PDF Print E-mail

President Obama officially opened the National Museum of African American History and Culture in the nation’s capital. Attending the ceremonies were members of America’s oldest African American church, First Baptist of Williamsburg VA.

A highlight of the event was the ringing of the 150-year-old church Freedom Bell. The congregation was established in 1776, the year the American Revolution began. Many of the first members were slaves and freed-slaves. In the pre-Civil War days, church services were held secretly in nearby Virginia farm fields and forests. Become A Smart Senior Casino Gambler PDF Print E-mail

Giving advice about how to be a frugal gambler may often be like telling a 300-pound chow hound to gobble just one helping at all-you-can-eat Vegas buffets. Once you start gambling in Las Vegas or at any other casino, you can easily become hooked, and throw frugality to the winds.

Understand the reality. Las Vegas doesn’t provide all those big shows, bright lights, cheap rooms and buffets just to be nice. It’s because they expect you to forget moderation while you’re in Sin City, and gamble away lots of money.
