Yahoo Unfairly Labels Ugly Americans On Cruises |

We rarely write editorials, but a recent Yahoo piece shook us up. The writer not only bashed Americans, but also singled out seasoned citizens we feature on travel4seniors.com as the worst offenders.
Of course, on just about every cruise, as there are in land resorts, there are boorish people. They complain, make unreasonable demands, get drunk, buy junk and thoroughly offend everyone else. However, the boorish travelers are from all parts of the globe.
In our many cruises and other world travels, we’ve observed that at least 99.99% of Americans behave themselves admirably. May we add that those senior American travelers spent hard-working decades in businesses, professions and the military? Whatever enjoyment they get from cruises is well earned, and if sometimes they show it with hearty laughter and funny clothing, tell it to the Marines.

The exhibit, called Campaigns of Courage, is now open to visitors at the National World War II Museum. When entering, visitors will be given an electronic device called the Dog Tag Experience.

The combo of mechanical arms are called N1-C and B1-O, sort of reminders of C-3PO and T2-D2 from Star Wars. And maybe an earlier movie robot, too.
They serve on the Royal Caribbean Line’s newest and most technically-advanced cruise ship in its aptly-named Bionic Bar. After you belly up, whether you order a Bloody Mary or Scotch on the rocks, a robot will have the drink in front of you in a quick minute or so.
It all sounds great to us, and if we’re lucky enough to sail on the new RCL ship, we just have one question: How much do you tip a robot bartender? Further, what do you use as a tip? Are three screws, two wing nuts and a bolt enough?

Now called braggies, they could earn you a free night or more for your next travel venture. Post it on a social website, such as Facebook, and the grateful hotel chain may reward you for it.

Calming Canines Ease Airport Stress |

According to a USA Today report, many airports now offer friendly dog therapy for passengers and families in waiting areas. Especially at this busy time of year, the crowds, noise and confusion can be overwhelming.
A friendly paw, furry coat and wagging tail can do much to ease the stress of travelers of all ages. So far, as many as 40 U.S. airports feature volunteer dog owners and their specially-trained pets offering the free canine therapy.
