 As a kid, your travel4seniors.com editor spent ten years in an orphanage founded by a French immigrant who got rich in 19th Century America. We frequently started musical sessions by singing La Marseillaise, the French national anthem. The lyrics were based on fighting in the Mediterranean port during the French Revolution of the 1790s.
Marseille is the oldest city in France and the country's second largest, after Paris. The port was first an ancient Greek and then Roman outpost, founded over 2,500 years ago.

 New York City is one of the most expensive in the world. Senior visitors shouldn’t be shocked if a dumpy, little hotel room near the theater district is $500 a night. A seafood dinner in Manhattan could be $100, while in smaller cities an identical meal goes for $35.
A prime orchestra seat ticket in Philly could cost $100. For the same at a Broadway theater, the price could set you back $250 and more. However, New York City is an exciting experience. And, if you want to indulge yourself in Manhattan's hotels, restaurants, museums and theaters, some penny-pinching and heavy homework could cut some of the outrageous costs down to merely grossly overpriced.

 Beyond the lush resorts, buffets and casinos, Las Vegas also offers scenic bike trails, including downtown, the suburbs, nearby Mount Charleston, Red Rock Canyon, the shores of Lake Mead and Hoover Dam.
The first reaction about local bike trails from the typical Vegas visitor could be: who takes time from gambling to ride bikes in Sin City? Admittedly, it's difficult to envision gamblers getting up early in the morning to ride their Schwinns through the traffic-choked, high-rise Las Vegas Strip.
