Los Angeles CA: The Fantastic Hotel Bel-Air PDF Print E-mail

Guest Editor Paul J., Dallas TX: I recently spent the weekend with my son at one of the ritziest hotels in Los Angeles. The Hotel Bel-Air is in one of the upscale residential neighborhoods in the country. The hotel's swimming pool, with its oval shape and surrounding oval-shaped fence, is a tribute to the former oval-shaped horse corral, which once occupied the same space.

Guest Correspondent Sam R., Newark NJ: Manhattan’s famed Carnegie Deli is closing down after 80 years. Fortunately, another vintage NYC ethnic eatery, Katz Deli, will continue serving hungry customers, as it has for nearly 130 years.

There may be some disputes among millions of veteran deli patrons from Broadway to Tel Aviv to Beverly Hills to the Katz claim that it creates the best pastrami sandwich in the world. However, no one can question the sheer joy of biting into one.

San Diego CA: The Amazing And Fascinating SDZ PDF Print E-mail

The San Diego Zoo is certainly one of the best in the world. For the past 75 years, it has been the model for progressive zoos everywhere. It’s an inspiration for others to transform their practice from confining animals in cages to allowing them the freedom to roam through expansive natural living areas.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the San Diego Zoo is that it's designed to allow animals to live as naturally as possible, with plenty of space for interacting with their own species and other compatible animals.
