American Lung Assn Names Most Polluted USA Cities |

ALA reports six to the top 10 in the USA are in California. We have to assume their expert beancounters took little bottles to each of the cities, captured some air and then came home to test it the lab.
And their results are as clear as the (cough, cough) air over such pristine, but unmentioned, cities as New York, Philly, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Boston and Cleveland. So, next time you take your senior lungs to one of the above unnamed cities, breathe deeply the pure, unsmoggy air.
The ALA list for this year, with the awful atmospheres are, in rank (smell) order: Bakersfield CA, Visalia CA, Fresno CA, Modesto CA, Fairbanks AK, San Francisco CA, Salt Lake City UT, Logan UT, Los Angeles CA and Reno NV.

According to USA Today, during the past 15 years, the retirees cruised annually on Carnival ships involving about 880 days, adding up to 2.5 years at sea.
That’s about the same amount of World War 2 time your travel4seniors.com editor spent in the U.S. Navy. Of course, it isn’t likely anyone was shooting at the seagoing seniors while they were on the briny. Nor did they have to fire anti-aircraft guns, scrub the decks or clean up the mess hall.

Go But No Go For First Civilian Space Passengers |

If you’re a venturous senior and and sign up to ride the first civilian outer space vehicle when it’s scheduled to fly in 2018, be warned. The company, Blue Origin, states that the ship, New Shepard, will have no toilet facilities aboard.
Ground preps and the space ride are expected to take about 40 minutes for the adventure. However, passengers will be required to take care of any private bathroom needs before boarding.
