This very creative illustration was published just two years after the Wright Brothers made the first very short flight at Kitty Hawk NC. It predicted a typical flight in 100 years.
Although that’s not what actually happened, note an unexpected idea in the painting. Although women couldn’t vote until 1918, the pilot of the 1905 concept airplane is a woman!
It has actually been 106 years since this new flying machine was predicted for our time. Maybe today’s passengers stuck in airports for hours would gladly climb aboard the little flying machine.
