Las Vegas NV: Great Destination For Group Gatherings PDF Print E-mail

Guest Travel Correspondent PLL, Boston MA: Las Vegas is one of the nation's most popular destination for group reunions. In addition to military vets, the many attendees include extended families, high school classmates, college pals, work associates and many others who want to share memories.

Vegas Reunion: Now retired five years, I was recently invited by members of my company ad department to join them. About 20 current and retired employees had decided to meet and stay at MGM Grand, where Leo the Lion guards the entrance.

We had a great time talking about old times over dinner at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at the resort. The menu is classic American, with something for everyone’s taste. The food was delicious and the prices reasonable for Las Vegas. We then headed to the nearby Linq Las Vegas, a new shopping and entertainment area. We rode together in the brand, new High Roller. Advertised as the tallest ferris wheel in America, for a fee of $25 we enjoyed drinks in a large gondola that swept us up to great views of the city and nearby mountains.

Why Las Vegas: It’s one of the world's most popular convention cities. The dozens of posh hotels, hundreds of restaurants, spas and top-quality entertainment options are there. They provide meeting opportunities for visitors of all tastes and budgets. Most major airlines fly regularly to Las Vegas, and many varieties of air-hotel discount packages are available to accommodate large and small reunions.

Setting Up A Reunion: Once all participants agree to the Las Vegas location, an efficient way to make your event happen successfully is to get professional help. A good source is an experienced local travel agent.

Be sure to work up detailed plans for airline schedules, hotel accommodations, restaurant reservations, as well as meeting programs and other necessary details. Contact the hotel's sales department to help schedule events, and check out best pricing available for your group.
