Smithsonian, Washington DC

Q: We’re members of the Philadelphia Zoological Society and plan to visit zoos in San Diego and Los Angeles in a few weeks. Do we qualify for discounts or free entry?

A: Be sure to bring your currently in-force membership cards with you when you visit other zoos, and you’ll usually get discounts or free entry. The same applies for museum memberships, as well as some historic sites and national monuments. Discounts on store purchases may be offered, too. Check with your travel agent if you plan to visit zoos, monuments and museums in other countries to learn about any possible reciprocal courtesies. You could save from $10 and up for each visitor.
