American Lung Assn Names Most Polluted USA Cities

ALA reports six to the top 10 in the USA are in California. We have to assume their expert beancounters took little bottles to each of the cities, captured some air and then came home to test it the lab.

And their results are as clear as the (cough, cough) air over such pristine, but unmentioned, cities as New York, Philly, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Boston and  Cleveland. So, next time you take your senior lungs to one of the above unnamed cities, breathe deeply the pure, unsmoggy air.

The ALA list for this year, with the awful atmospheres are, in rank (smell) order: Bakersfield CA, Visalia CA, Fresno CA, Modesto CA, Fairbanks AK, San Francisco CA, Salt Lake City UT, Logan UT, Los Angeles CA and Reno NV.

Bucket List: Plan Memorable Trip With Grandchildren PDF Print E-mail

Next time you consider a travel adventure, include one or more people you’ve always wanted to take, but never got around to doing it. Your cute little grandkids grow up too fast. Soon they’ll be teenagers, starting their own lives and think of you as just an old codger. While they still enjoy being with a loving grandparent, book a memorable trip. Do it right, and you’ll all fondly remember the fun for many years.

Get them away from the cold, cold winter to the sands of Waikiki, Marco Island, Miami or Acapulco. Another idea is to relive your amusement park days with them at a Disney or Universal Theme Park.

If you want your grandkids to get a meaningful history lesson, take them to the Lincoln Memorial, Independence Hall, The Alamo, Gettysburg, Pearl Harbor or The World Trade Center Memorial.

If natural wonders are on your bucket list, plan a journey to the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Monument Valley, Arches National Park or Yosemite Valley.

If that memorable trip with those beloved little ones isn’t on your schedule yet, start planning it now. Don’t wait until more fleeting pages from your life’s calendar are torn away forever.
