The Very Best Senior Fantasy Travel Destinations Print

Just suppose you had to choose the best travel destination for this year. Also, because you’re a seasoned citizen, you're allowed to go back in time to enjoy it absolutely free. We surveyed our readers and here are five choices, not necessarily in rank order:

Jim K, Austin TX: I'd take my golf clubs to Pebble Beach, California, and participate in a 72-hole tournament against the current PGA champs. Of course, I'd win by ten strokes, and with TV cameras rolling, officials hand me a check for a million bucks, plus a huge silver trophy full of California champagne. Arnold W, New London CT: It would be seven nights in a sky-high penthouse suite at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I'd indulge in room service breakfasts, lunches at the endless buffet and dinners at the hotel's best restaurants. After dips in my suite’s private spa, I’d enjoy soothing massages. I'd have front row seats at world-class entertainment, and top it off with late night dancing at Sin City's sinningest clubs.

Victoria P, Minneapolis MN: I'd go camping with my family in a super-luxury RV (sleeps eight) for a week at the Grand Canyon National Park, and another week in Yosemite. We'd all gather nightly for pan-fried steaks, marshmallow toasting while around the campfire singing all the old camp songs.

Fran L, Philadelphia PA: I'd spend two weeks with my best friend in General MacArthur's luxurious penthouse suite at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. I’d dine on room service breakfasts on the terrace overlooking Manhattan, attend a dozen Broadway hit shows and enjoy front row seats at concerts in Carnegie Hall.

We’d lunch on super corned beef on rye sandwiches at the Stage Deli. After a 5th Avenue shopping spree, we’d take a horse buggy ride through Central Park, then indulge in dinner at the super-expensive Alain Ducasse at the Essex House.

Jack McK, Annapolis MD: I'd take my adult children and their kids for a week's fun at Walt Disney World in Florida. We'd wander everywhere and do everything throughout the park, including visit the Hall of Presidents and ride the roller coaster at Big Thunder Mountain

We’d cruise on the underground boat trip at Pirates of the Caribbean, and drive the little cars at the Grand Prix Racecourse. We’d sit down to a classy family dinner at Victoria and Albert's in the Grand Floridian, and as night falls, watch the nightly fireworks above Cinderella's Castle.
