Hotel Review - Amsterdam Marriott Leidsplein Print

Location, location, location.  The hotel is perfectly located facing Leidesplein and all the action.

We took a cab from airport.  You can also take the express airport train to Centraal Station and then walk the 20 minutes thru the city or take a cab from the station.  The room was an upgraded, club level room, 10th floor overlooking Leidesplein and the whole city.  A real postcard image.

Public areas are upscale corporate.  We were there over Thanksgiving and the hotel did their version of a Thanksgiving dinner.  The funny thing was they had decorated the room, but with July 4th decorations.  There were red, white and blue streamers and bunting everywhere, big Uncle Sams and US eagles.  Well at least they tried.  The dinner was turkey with all the fixins and was actually tremendous.

I can't say enough about the location, before you is the whole pedestrian shopping area and old city, to your right is the Museumplein, featuring Amsterdam's amazing museums, and to your left is the new, hip Jordaan area.   There is also a tram stop in front of the hotel, Amsterdam's trams take you throughout the city, through the day and night.  Its really a perfect base from which to explore the area.

Overall a great experience, helpful and professional staff, clean, luxurious quiet room with amazing view.  And of course the perfect location.

We heartily recommend the property to other travelers and would return ourselves.
