Norwegian Cruise Line Cancels Hawaii Big Island Visits PDF Print E-mail

Because of the dangers of continuing eruptions of the Kilauea volcano on the big island, the cruise line has cancelled calls at Hawaii's Big Island until safety returns. Norwegian’s Pride of America, out of Honolulu, will now use the time on extended visits to the islands of Oahu and Maui.

Your travel4seniors.com editor sailed this route on Norwegian several times, and it’s one of the world’s most enjoyable cruises. The change in schedule shouldn’t affect the fun and pleasure of upcoming visits. New plans include an overnight stay in Honolulu and a day visit to Maui.

There will still be passenger shore roaming in Kahului, Maui and Kauai. Other lines that have temporarily canceled calls at the Big Island recently include Oceania, Crystal, Royal Caribbean and Princess.
