Frontier Airlines Fined $1.5 Million For Snow Delays PDF Print E-mail

The DOT beancounters hit the airline with the hefty punishment for incidents at Denver International Airport last winter. The fine may seem somewhat questionable, because it happened during a heavy snowstorm in the Rocky Mountain State.

Scores of flights were delayed, and the airline had to hold back take-offs for more than three snowy hours. Instead of allowing passengers to return to the comfort of the airport lounge, they had to sit in the grounded flights during those waiting winter hours.

Questions for future senior Frontier fliers: How will the airline make up for the heavy DOT fines they had to pay for last winter's offense? Do you think future Frontier ticket price increases will require a blizzard of cold cash from your pocket?
